Transit Time

Transit time refers to the moment when a celestial object, such as a star, planet, or the Sun, crosses the local meridian of an observer. The local meridian is an imaginary line that runs from the north to the south, passing directly overhead. At transit time, the object reaches its highest point in the sky, known as culmination, making it the best time for observation due to its maximum elevation and reduced atmospheric distortion. This time is useful for calculating the visibility and position of celestial objects.
